Izzy Anderson launched Yorkshire-based Mindful Fox in 2017. Her approach is to mix mindfulness training with essential oils after seeing first-hand how essential oils can transform the way you manage your health and wellness.
For those who don't already know, aromatherapy is using essential oils and plant extracts to treat a variety of different conditions. The oils can be used for massaging, in creams, lotions and oils for applying to your body, in baths, steam inhalation, aromatic spritzers, diffusions and inhalations.
Here, Izzy tells us how to manage hay fever symptoms at summer weddings: “Lemon, lavender & peppermint as a combo contain antihistamine properties and are super-supportive for hay fever.
How to use;
- Pop the oils into a diffuser and mix with water - air particles become air bound for up to 2 hrs.
- Mixed in an empty rollerball and safely dilute with a carrier. Then apply to feet and chest (but be mindful that this combo contains lemon which is photosensitive so wash off before going in sunlight.)
- Add 1 drop of each to a veggie cap or pop the drops in a little water and drink. Please note this is only safe to do with oils which contain the food supplement stamp on the bottle - if they do not show this your essential oils are not safe for internal use."
Izzy stresses; “Please remember not all essential oils are created equal so I encourage users to please do your research and look for essential oil companies who source their oils ethically, sustainably and with transparency about exactly what is in the bottle you are purchasing.”
