You asked... We're having a contemporary industrial theme for our wedding but I can't find a dress to suit. What styles do you recommend?
Berenice says... I love working to a theme! It gives a designer so many ideas that they can run with to create the perfect dress. I'd stay away from traditional lace or tulle and instead concentrate on getting the wow factor.
From a design point of view, the key to any dress is to get the ideal silhouette for the bride's body, whether that's a ballgown, sheath or A-line cut, getting the structure right is what makes it truly stunning. I'd then consider fabrics. For a contemporary feel you could totally rock a traditional ballgown in leather with a high-low train.
If that's a step too far, then I could hand paint a silk or satin dress in a colour of your choice. Even sticking to ivory but embellished in metallic shades would be gorgeous for an edgy industrial look. The possibilities are endless but feeling comfortable and confident on your big day is the priority.
