There are so many amazing wedding photographers in Yorkshire. How do you narrow down the search and choose the one that's right for you? We asked Ruth Mitchell Photography for her top tips...
You'll find many professionals with their own styles, so first of all you need to decide on the style of imagery and how you want your wedding day to be – we've all been to weddings where the photographer has taken over the day! I concentrate on capturing moments and being as unobtrusive as possible, which leaves you to be with your family and friends to enjoy your wedding day. I love capturing emotion and laughter and telling a very real story of your day. I will, of course, photograph a handful of family shots and relaxed ones of you as newlyweds, but most of what I capture is natural.
Always ask to see a full album from one wedding, rather than just the photographer's highlights to make sure they're consistent in producing great images throughout the day. Always try to meet or have a video chat to make sure you get on well with them too.
