Wedding to be won in charity raffle

Weddings are the most magical day for most couples, but a charity raffle organised by a prestigious north Yorkshire venue is offering the ultimate prize for any engaged couple – a £25,000 wedding package including reception in an enchanted barn, and a replica of Hagrid's cottage as the bridal suite! North Shire is an events venue near Saltburn-on-Sea, just up the coast from Whitby in north Yorkshire, and is hosting the raffle – which ends on 28th August – to raise up to £25,000 for the Gurkha Welfare Trust, to bring clean water to remote villages in Nepal.

Goodbye wedding breakfast, hello hog roast

Data revealed by Yorkshire based HRH Group has shown that couples are changing up the traditional wedding format to do away with formalities and spend more time celebrating with loved ones - potentially a hangover from COVID when so many weddings were cancelled and families and friends kept apart for so long. The group, which offers bespoke weddings from The Yorkshire Hotel in Harrogate, is noting an increased trend for customers shunning the formal sit down meal after their ceremony and diving in feet first to what used to be the 'night do', but is now very much the main event for many celebrations.

Woodman Inn celebrates win for Best Wedding Venue

The team at Woodman Inn, Thunderbridge are celebrating their recent win, when they were crowned West Yorkshire Wedding Venue of the year in Hitched, the online wedding planner.

It's a great start for 2022 for The Woodman, which celebrated a record-breaking year for the number of weddings held at its two beautiful wedding venues – the intimate setting of the Country Room, perfect for 40 day and 80 evening guests and the sumptuous Garden Room, which can comfortably cater for 60 day and 100 evening guests.

The Old Deanery now taking wedding bookings

The new owners of Ripon's iconic The Old Deanery have announced they're now taking bookings for weddings in 2022 and beyond, providing a lifeline for engaged couples following the pandemic.

Recently acquired by Rebecca Hill and Chris Layton, The Old Deanery is a stunning Jacobean mansion opposite the breath-taking Ripon Cathedral. After a short period of closure, The Old Deanery will soon be re-opening under its new management as a wedding and events venue with guests invited to celebrate in its stunning surroundings.

The Old Rectory to reopen

Vine Hotels has announced that The Old Rectory in Handsworth, south Yorkshire, which joined the hospitality and hotel management company in early August, will be re-opening as a premium wedding venue this autumn.The Old Rectory is a beautiful Grade II listed stone building in Handsworth on the edge of Sheffield and Vine Hotels now plans to refurbish and relaunch this historic venue to accommodate weddings and events of up to 200 guests for a buffet and 140 for a banquet dinner.
