The bouquet residence! Bridal bouquet inspiration
Wedding traditions are full of history, and the bridal bouquet is a beautiful example. What began...
Central Co-op helps deliver heartfelt wedding gift to long-time crisp lover.
When bride-to-be, Chloe, started planning her wedding, she knew exactly what her mum’s perfect gift would be. It wasn’t jewellery, spa days or flowers, instead, Chloe wanted to thank her mum, Lorraine, with something truly personal: a lifetime supply of Co-op Irresistible Sea Salt & Chardonnay Wine Vinegar crisps.
After all, as Chloe explains, “Every birthday, Christmas or Mother’s Day, all Mum ever asks for is these crisps! It’s a running family joke. She’s impossible to buy for, she hates all the usual mum gifts, but absolutely loves her Co-op crisps.”
In January, Chloe contacted Central Co-op with her unusual but heartfelt request. Working closely with the bride-to-be, the Central Co-op team arranged for Lorraine to receive a lifetime supply voucher, redeemable at her local Central Co-op in Dodworth, Barnsley, as well as boxes of her favourite crisps to use as part of the big day.
On the 14th of June, at a wedding ceremony held at Beeston Manor in Lancashire, Chloe married her partner Joe and surprised Lorraine with the ultimate tribute: a heartfelt speech, a crisp bouquet and a full-on crisp wall at the reception - complete with a sign reading “Loz’s Co-op Crisps.” To top it all off, Lorraine was presented with a personalised crisp bowl and a framed certificate confirming her lifetime supply.
Lorraine said: “When Chloe gave her bridal speech and said I only have two loves, my family and my Co-op crisps, I hoped I’d had some coming. But when she announced I’d be getting them for life, I was absolutely speechless!”
“She cried so much she could barely breathe!” Chloe added. The gift meant the world to Lorraine, who’s been known to go to great lengths to secure her supply, including emailing Co-op about recipe changes and even flying abroad with bags in her luggage. “They are my comfort food, my celebration food, my everything food!” Lorraine added. “In fact, I’ve even said I want bags in my coffin when I go!”
Lorraine has now created a dedicated Co-op crisp cupboard in her newly refurbished kitchen, where her personalised bowl and lifetime supply certificate take pride of place. “The certificate even matches the colour scheme,” she laughs. “It was meant to be.”
Chloe said the whole day was made even more special by her mum’s unforgettable reaction. “She was totally bowled over and it’s all anyone’s talked about since the wedding. It was the perfect way to say thank you to the most amazing mum.”
Daniel Boden, Store Manager at Central Co-op in Dodworth, said: “When Chloe got in touch with her idea, we absolutely loved it. It’s a brilliant, joyful reminder of how food can bring people together and how personal our favourite products can become. We were delighted to help make it happen, and we’re thrilled Lorraine was so moved. We hope she enjoys every single bite!”
