New wedding packages launched by Carlton Towers

Couples planning a small wedding can still enjoy their special day on a grand scale thanks to new wedding packages launched by Carlton Towers.

The Gothic revival-style stately home in North Yorkshire is offering anIntimate Celebration for a minimum of 30 guests, and a Candlelit Celebration for a minimum of 60 guests. Included in the per person price is a welcome drink, three-course meal, half a bottle of wine per guest and glass of sparkling wine for toasts. The services of a dedicated wedding planner, table linen, use of a silver cake stand and knife, plus a gold mirror and easel to display the table plan, are also included.

The Intimate Celebration costs £195 per person and is available now on a Monday to Thursday, while the Candlelit Celebration costs £130 per person and is available Sunday to Thursday between September 2023 and March 2024. With peak wedding season approaching, experts are warning couples not to rely on AI to write one of the most personal parts of their big day – their vows. A survey by jewellers Queensmith has revealed that more than half (55%) of UK brides and grooms are now using AI tools to help write their wedding vows and speeches, raising questions about authenticity, originality and even potential legal grey areas. The findings come amid a growing debate around AI-written vows after a registrar in the eastern Netherlands saw a marriage called into question when AI was used to help write the ceremony script. In the case, the District Court of Overijssel ruled that "no marriage has been established" after it emerged the registrar had relied on ChatGPT to draft parts of the ceremony. The case has sparked wider concerns that AI-generated wording could unintentionally mirror existing vows or scripts found online, raising questions about originality and authenticity.
