We introduce you to Cheryl Higgs Makeup and Beauty

Before and after of blonde model wearing bridal make up

Tell us about your business...
I try to focus on natural beauty and a fresh skin look. I'm a mum of two, and wanted a business to fit around my children. I qualified as a make-up artist, and then got the bug for beauty and qualified in lashes, nails and beauty. I absolutely love meeting different people and hearing their stories – I think my physiology degree helps too!

What's your favourite bridal beauty look?
I think my favourite bridal look is glowing gorgeous skin with framed stunning eyes and a glossy lip.

What's your top tip for brides choosing a wedding make-up artist?
Find someone you feel comfortable talking to, so if you aren't happy with the trial look, you have the confidence to speak up. I think there is nothing worse than leaving an appointment and hating what the artist has done. As an artist we want to know.

What question do you get asked by brides the most?
"How do I get that glowing skin look?" I try to work with brides before the day to make sure they are looking after their skin and drinking plenty of water. Make-up can do an incredible job, but there's nothing better than working with a fabulous canvas.
