We're trying to make our wedding as sustainable as possible – what eco-friendly options are there for our flowers?

Flowers are an integral part of your day, providing a focal point for photographs and something to bring together the colour scheme and styling. At Ecoblooms we create flowers from donated plastic bottles, providing an eco-friendly, sustainable and everlasting option. There's no need for vases of water and they're surprisingly light yet sturdy to move around. I can make flowers that are out of season and ones you wouldn't find in nature – rose gold anemones or rainbow roses perhaps?

My flowers can be ordered well in advance, so you can relax and get on with planning knowing your flowers are ready to go. They can withstand hot or cold days and there are no wilting flowers to throw away at the end of the night.

Not only are Ecoblooms a sustainable option, they also reduce costs by repurposing your florals throughout the day. For example, your bridesmaids' bouquets can become cake table decorations before being given as thank you gifts. Why not use your table decorations as favours too? You can collect jars or vases and I'll fill them with flowers to suit the theme, which can be taken home by your loved ones.

To understand why, the bed experts also asked survey respondents what their reasoning was behind this. They also provided additional insight on the idea of the "wedding night" from Relationship Expert, Jenni Trent Hughes. The findings show that exhaustion was by far the most common factor, with more than two in five (44%) of couples saying they were simply too tired after the celebrations. As weddings often involve early starts, long days, emotional highs, and late nights, rest is a more realistic priority than romance once newlyweds are in bed.
