We're having a Christmas-themed wedding. How can we reflect this in our cake design and flavour choices?
Christmas is a magical time of year and it provides tremendous inspiration for cakes. You have endless colours and options available, from classic sparkly white to rich red and green or even a novelty design. You could also go for a rustic naked or semi-naked creation dressed with seasonal fruits and flowers.
Pine cones are a fantastic addition to any Christmas-themed design, and can be coloured, painted or glittered to match your scheme. Christmas ornaments can also be lovely additions, such as glass tress or baubles. Don't forget to finish the look off by dressing the table with fresh greenery and holly.
When it comes to flavours, think traditional fruit cake soaked in brandy or dark rum, cinnamon spiced carrot cake or rich chocolate and chestnut. For a lighter option, consider a tropical fruit cake or an orange and cranberry sponge.
