We ask Jennifer Debrah of Debrah J Events your venue styling question...

"We've chosen a statement burnt orange colour scheme for our wedding. How do we style our venue so it doesn't look over the top?"

There's no reason to be afraid to use a bold colour as part of your wedding palette. If anything, we encourage our couples to express themselves in their decor design. As you plan, it's key that you keep the interior of your venue in mind for cohesion; consider how its features can work to your advantage.

Bold colours make a statement, so think about using key decor elements such as your flowers, stationery or linen to make them stand out. To support your palette, we would also recommend that you add at least two complimentary colours – possibly neutrals – to give balance and add visual interest.

Lastly, let your love story lead! Let it define the narrative of your day and express your authenticity. Your wedding is the first day of your married life together, and it's only right that it echoes you as a couple. Don't shy away from what you really want and have fun throughout the process.
