Spring its all about new life with trees s blossoming, daffodils flowering and young wildlife coming into the world. So, it’s a fitting time of year for a wedding as two people who’ve found love prepare to begin their own new life together. As we emerge from the long winter months, springtime nuptials make the perfect celebration, bringing everyone out of hiding! Everything about this time of year just feels joyous from the light, fresh flavours in food, to the oh-so beautiful flower varieties that come into bloom plus the lighter nights and warmer weather.
When anyone tries to tell me that pastel palettes are out for weddings, I’m afraid I have to stick my fingers in my ears – la, la, la! Wildflower-inspired themes have made their way into my heart over the last couple of years and I for one refuse to see them fall out of fashion! Vibrant hues are all very well and good in any other season, but what could be more complementary in the spring than a glorious garden inspired palette of pink, Peach Fuzz, lavender, sage and lemon? Be still my beating heart! There are a myriad of ways to bring these shades bang up to date: just picture an ombre of fresh yellows with zingy citrus, lemon and mustard complete with Mediterranean vibes. Sunny and oh-so stylish.
Page 41’s styled shoot team set out to capture this magical time of year at the change of the seasons with this stunning project. Fresh and clean you can almost smell spring in the air. It’s also well worth turning to our annual jewellery and accessories feature if you’re in search of inspiration as a whole host of local businesses have shared some stunning pieces to feast your eyes on.

The Grand Lodge at Oaklands
Set in 200 acres of woodland, The Grand Lodge at Oaklands is nestled sympathetically among the East Yorkshire countryside, offering a magical place to host your big day.
The stylish design of the venue, using locally-sourced materials such as in the timber cladding, allows it to blend in delightfully with its natural surrounding. Inside, the décor is a mix of rustic charm with plenty of luxury elements, stylish lighting, jewel tones and greenery. Completed in late 2023, the on-site accommodation lodges are a welcome addition, exclusively available for couples and their guests.
Not only does the building itself offer a dreamy setting for you an d your loves ones to enjoy, the green space and woodland here also provide an enchanting backdrop for those all-important photos.
The Lakeside Lodge can play host to 120 guests as you say your “I dos.” It’s a charming space with oh-so cool ski lodge-vibes. Alternatively, the outdoor Pavilion benefits from views across the lake, making it a wonderfully tranquil setting for these romantic moments.
Receptions are held in The Grand Lodge for 200 seated diners, and 300 evening revellers. The dining area, bar and dancefloor is in one large capacity space. The mezzanine floor is not only a fantastic feature of the room but also boasts 360-degree views of the venue.

| Bolton Castle wins Best Historical Visitor Attraction |

Bolton Castle, one of the country's best preserved medieval castles and spectacular wedding venue, located near Leyburn in North Yorkshire, has won Best Historical Visitor Attraction at the Northern Enterprise Awards 2023. The venue won thanks to its commitment to offering excellence in visitor service, the provision of a compelling events programme throughout its open season, and its success in securing additional opportunities to build an income by offering the castle as a private event and wedding venue. Jacqui Naylor, GM at the castle says, "We're aware that we're a hidden gem in the North Yorkshire countryside and compared to some of Yorkshire's larger visitor attractions, we need to work hard to ensure our visitor offer meets the challenge of the 21st-century market.
