Hello from your new Editor of Your Yorkshire Wedding! The lovely Rachel has moved on to pasture’s new, but never fear – I’ve years of experience in helping you source suppliers and organise the best day of your lives; also editing our sister title, Your North East Wedding. I hope you’ll enjoy reading the features I’ve researched and compiled as much as I love putting them together.
Formalities over and done with, let’s get on with the good stuff – planning your big day! If you’re as much of a sucker as I am when it comes to reading about other couple’s celebrations, turn to our three reader weddings, starting with Dani and Alex’s laidback affair on page 27. From there it’s all things grand and beautiful, courtesy of Olga and Oliver’s high society wedding (complete with British nobility!) on page 32; before a castle wedding of dreams for Rachel and Jonny on page 38. And that’s before you’ve even started to delve into our exclusive shoots, with Rise Hall and Sneaton Castle the venues of choice for these picture-perfect snaps (see pages 43 and 49 respectively).
All that plus Yorkshire’s best wedding photographers (p53), regional jewellery and accessories (p71), barns and farms to wed in (p21) and much more!
I hope you enjoy my first issue – see you in May!

Cave Castle Hotel & Country Club
Surrounded by 150 acres of meadowland, Cave Castle Hotel is situated at the edge of the Wolds, boasting its own private lake and wishing well. Sympathetically styled to honour its routes as a stately home, the venue boasts intricately decorated ceilings and shimmering chandeliers, while still blending the modern elegance of neutral tones with statement pieces. The grand staircase and glass dome ceiling are a focal point, while some suites boast original fireplaces and stone walls.
With its own bar, the Balmoral Suite has access to the terrace and can accommodate 100 for a wedding breakfast and 150 for a reception. Alternatively, the Sandringham Suite seats 200 for a ceremony, 150 for a formal dinner and 200 for a buffet-style function. There’s also the option for smaller celebrations in the Queens Room (20 ceremony guests) or the Kings Room (18 for a reception).

A hectic work schedule can often mean that other parts of our lives our pushed to the side. Many people find it challenging to have a positive work-life balance, often not being able to find the time to stay fit and eat well.
