Broadrayne Farm in the Lake District has launched The Byre, a chic minimoon hideaway for two. Nestled on Broadrayne at the foot of the fells near picture-perfect Grasmere village, The Byre is a contemporary one-bedroom apartment converted from the farm’s original cow byre. It has stunning views towards Helm Crag and Steel Fell and offers an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area with a log burning stove to stay toasty, a plush bedroom for two, a sparkling bathroom and an enclosed, private, outdoor seating and barbecue area which makes the most of the surrounding scenery.
Guests staying at The Byre can order indulgent breakfasts and dinners from The Yan to be delivered right to their door – perfect after days out exploring the nearby fells and lakes. The Yan is renowned for its beautiful comfort food with everything pickled, smoked, baked and cooked from scratch right down to the ketchup; all of which can be brought to guests at The Byre, along with local ales, good wines and even cocktails! Breakfast delivery options include homemade muesli with fresh fruit and yoghurt, house-smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on thick-cut sourdough toast, and roasted flat field mushrooms on a ciabatta sourdough – setting you up for the day ahead!
A stay at The Byre for two people costs from £370 for four nights on a self-catering basis. Breakfasts at The Yan cost from £3.75, while a main dinner course costs from £14.95. There’s no charge for room service delivery to The Byre.
