One of the hottest new-to-market venues is due to hit Bilbrough, Yorkshire – if you're looking for a venue that fuses rustic charm with uber-chic luxury, this one's definitely for you!
The Normans is a third generation family farm that's now being converted into a cool country wedding venue by husband and wife team Laura and Oliver Robinson, following a series of successful family weddings.
The gorgeous red brick farm is set in a rural location, just outside the pretty village of Bilbrough (just 20 minutes from York and conveniently just off the A64).
“Our aim is to create cool and contemporary country weddings – we believe couples now want something beyond the standard white marquee and we're full of creative and cutting edge ideas as well as beautiful buildings for couples to make their own,” says Laura.
On its opening in March, 2016, the farm venue will be made up of:
A landscaped courtyard – complete with seasonal flowers, water feature and seating – perfect for champagne and mingling
A red brick barn – ideal for ceremonies or weatherproof mingling
Cow stalls – a cool area that can be used for indoor seating or quirkier notions – why not have a waiter serve champagne or canapés over the stable doors?
A grain shed – holding a spectacular 'marquee' with a difference, for dinner and dancing – details coming soon!
The Normans will hold a spring open day and Laura and Oliver are looking forward to meeting brides- and grooms-to-be.
