GoHen reveals its 10 most quintessentially British hen do ideas: Image 1

Britain is famed internationally for being a little bit unusual and characteristically quaint – whether it's our iconic red buses, our love for fish and chips or our queuing abilities – we're a little bit different – and that's not a bad thing. It means we think outside the box, and when we apply that to our hen weekends, it means we boast a whole host of weird and wonderful adventures our brides and their entourages can embark on for their pre-wedding parties.

Like us, our friends at GoHen are fans of all things quirky and quintessentially British, so they've gone ahead and compiled a list of ten of the best UK activities for you lovely people to check out if you're looking for something a little extra special for your big British hen weekend.

1. Harry Potter Hen Weekends
Forget Shakespeare and Cheddar Cheese, possibly the greatest export Britain has gifted the planet is the wizarding world of Hogwarts, which has fast become one of the biggest film franchises of all time. If the bride-to-be loves all things Potter-related, these fab Harry Potter hen parties are the perfect addition to that magical weekend.

2. Hen Fest Glamping
Glastonbury, V Fest, Bestival: Britain loves its festivals, and if the bride-to-be enjoys nothing more than letting loose outdoors with the tunes blaring and the party in full flow, throwing her own mini-festival is a fantastically unique way to celebrate her big day. Enjoy luxury glamping, live music, a BBQ and much, much more as you set it off in style.

3. Afternoon Tea Bus
This fab activity is a mashup of the nation's favourite clichés: vintage red bus, delicious finger sandwiches, British tea, plus a tour of some of London's most iconic sights. This is sightseeing taken to the next level and it's amazing. Hop aboard and settle in as you whizz off around the capital whilst enjoying a rather decadent British spread.

4. Punting
It doesn't get much more sophisticated or fabulously relaxing than cruising along the waterways of some of the UK's most picturesque cities with cocktails and champagne flowing in equal measure, chatting away as you bask in the sunshine and the idyllic views. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon, Punting is the perfect activity to counter all the bride's wedding planning worries.

5. Ultimate Zip Wire
Crank the chaos up a notch by flying down Europe's longest zip wire, hitting speeds of up to 100mph. Yes, it's not all afternoon tea and cocktails, you and the girls can throw in some high octane, adrenaline-pumping, laughter-fuelled action to spice up the hen weekend as you head to the mountains for an epic Ultimate Zip Wire experience.

6. Welsh Challenge
We don't know why popping on some fancy dress and battling it out over nine hilarious inflatable obstacles is particularly British, it just is (you probably wouldn't see our sophisticated international neighbours resorting to such juvenile mayhem!). Over the course of these crazy games, you'll jump, dive, run, fling, bash and barge your way to victory as you go head to head with your fellow hens.

7. Mini Cooper Landmark Tour
The Mini Cooper Landmark Tour oozes Britishness. Get behind the wheels of these iconic vehicles as you zip off around one of the most incredible capital cities on the planet, taking in the sights and doing your best Michael Caine impersonations: "You're only supposed to blow the b***** doors off!". Classics are classics for a reason – they're extraordinary!

8. High Tea Gin Tasting
High tea is as British as a bulldog in a policeman's helmet, but GoHen have taken this quaint affair and enhanced it to make it a little more hen party-friendly. And by 'enhanced it', we mean they've substituted tea for gin because, well, why not?! Learn about one of the nation's favourite tipples in a swanky cocktail bar before you have a go at infusing your own.

9. Hot Air Ballooning
Is there a more British sight than a few hot air balloons idly drifting by in the distance on a warm summer's day? Real bucket list stuff, it's time to stop admiring them from afar and take to the skies yourselves for an awe-inspiring afternoon grazing the clouds and skimming the skyline over some of the country's most beautiful cities.

10. School Sports Day
It's time to relive your glory years and head back to school for a nostalgic school sports day.
