The newest and cutest wedding craze is llamas! Yes, that's right! These gorgeous furry creatures are making an appearance at weddings up and down the country, but how do you make sure they're right for you and the animals are happy in their work? We caught up with Suzanne from Nidderdale Llamas to find out more...
"Our llamas and alpacas love to join in on the bride and grooms special day! They circulate around the guests, pose for photos with bride and groom and the guests and our friendly staff let everyone stroke them and interact with them. The best time is generally during drinks reception, after the ceremony and before the breakfast. Alternately we can walk the llamas down the aisle and they are happy to carry the rings on their backs (sat in a small velvet box), or they can simply join the happy couple after the ceremony and accompany them out of the church or venue," says Suzanne.
"The animals we take to weddings are selected for their temperaments, they enjoy their job and are very familiar with wedding crowds. They're always accompanied by 2 professional, smartly dressed, friendly staff who talk to people on how to approach, handle, and stroke them. They're also happy to answer any questions. The llamas or alpacas can be dressed in smart bow ties to suit the colour scheme," she continues.
"Being fully insured for attending weddings, our animals are also very well behaved, do not spit at people and are toilet-trained! If there does happen to be a 'mishap' we clean up immediately after them, we must point out though that 'mishaps' are very rare!"
