November/December 2020

As we move towards the end of 2020, and start looking forward to next year, I’m so excited for the 2021 weddings I’m attending, as well as the postponed events I have from last year. Being a wedding editor, it probably comes as no surprise that weddings absolutely fill me with joy, so seeing friends and family having to put a halt to celebrations last year was hard – but it does mean we get a bumper 2021 season!

Whether you’ve had to postpone or you’ve always planned to get married in 2021 or beyond, these pages are jam-packed with inspiration to get your day exactly how you want it. In recent months we’ve all come to realise that celebrations with our loved ones are precious, and it’s with renewed love for life that we look forward to this happening again.

With the colder days, it’s time to get snuggled up on the sofa with a cuppa and your favourite wedding magazine (ahem!) and get planning the day of your dreams. We’ve got entertainment acts to knock your socks off (page 49), incredible big-day photography (page 43) and a round up of the best of Yorkshire venues (page 15). Enjoy!

Yorkshire Wildlife Park

For weddings with a wonderfully wild twist, couples can choose one of the region’s most unforgettable venues, Yorkshire Wildlife Park. This incredible setting boasts panoramic views across the animal reserve, and gives couples the opportunity to have some very special guests in their big-day photos!

Parties can spend hours exploring and getting up close to feed the lemurs and giraffes. The venue is also home to some of the most endangered species in the world including Amur tigers, leopards, polar bears and lions.

Couples can tie the knot in The Outlook Suite, which can be dressed to suit any style and boasts incredible vistas across the park. The newlyweds are then invited to have their photographs taken at one of the reserves while their loved ones enjoy drinks and canapés in the tropical Caramba Gardens or on the lawns.

After this, the Tsavo Lodge marquee is perfect for wedding receptions. It’s available with African-themed décor or with a starlight ceiling, glittering drapes and spotlights.
