When times get tough, there's nothing like a bit of sparkle to make people smile which is why UK-based jeweller Carrie Elizabeth has launched her design competition early - usually reserved for Xmas.

Carrie has reached out to her customer base on Instagram this week, asking them to design her next piece. "We had been planning to collaborate with our customers later in the year towards Christmas, however with everything going on at the moment, it definitely felt like it was the right thing to bring it forward and do it now," she says.

At Carrie Elizabeth, they consider their entirely remote, all-female team and their customer community as family. "Now, more than ever, it's so important to feel connected and we hope that during these times of isolation, by reaching out to our community, they feel even more connected to us," says Carrie. "A lot of our customers are like-minded women who just love anything sparkly and colourful and above all, love jewellery, and I often receive a lot of design ideas and requests - so I just know that our community will love being a part of this!"

As many of her fans are already aware, the brand does not have a Carrie Elizabeth HQ and already work remotely from their homes. On their website, Carrie writes, "Although we're all still working, we will also now be juggling the new pressures of this situation including home-schooling our children and supporting those more vulnerable than ourselves. As always, my team has my full support at this time."

She continues, "during this period, as someone who lives by myself, I will definitely be relying on my wider community on Instagram to keep me going!" - and it looks like she is doing just that. Entrants to the design competition can design their piece either digitally or using a sketch.

In three weeks time, when we all hope the lockdown is relaxed, Carrie will choose her favourite designs to go through to the sampling stage and those chosen will also receive £250 worth of Carrie Elizabeth vouchers. Winners then selected to be included in collections online will win £500 in cash, have their names credited on the site and even receive their personal design for free.
