Grays Court
Boasting over 900 years of colourful history, this family-owned boutique hotel nestles in the shadows of York Minster and the City Walls. Thought to be one of the oldest continually occupied houses in the UK, the venue was originally commissioned by the first Norman Archbishop of York in 1080 and since then has played host to some of England’s most historical figures. Its oak-paneled walls and quintessentially English gardens and newly installed fountain ooze charm making it an idyllic setting for tying the knot. Couples can say ‘I do’ either outside in the bright summerhouse, while inside the house there’s a choice of holding celebrations within the Long Gallery, the Sterne Room or the library with its stunning feature fireplace. The venue caters for a maximum of 40 day guests with an additional 50 accommodated during the evening.
