For a bride, her hair must compliment to the look of her dress and the theme of the big day. At Francesco Group, we always stress you should feel yourself, therefore, it’s important that the bride thinks about what they most feel comfortable with and especially when it comes to their hair and whether they feel more comfortable wearing it up or down.
There are so many styles brides can choose from, but there will be particular looks that will be more suited to certain face shapes and hair types. There are also so many things your hairdresser can use to add length or volume, from clip in extensions to padding, to give hold and fullness to your hair. Creating a mood board on Pinterest of looks you like is a great way to give you a good starting point to go from. You can have looks that are on trend but try incorporating a classic twist so the look doesn’t look too dated when you look back on your big day pictures.
This seasons key looks will be very feminine but in a much more relaxed way than previous seasons. Hair ups will be very loose with waves rather than curls, tendrils will be left out around the hairline and plaits and twists will be a dominant trend. Ponytails will be another popular hair up choice and there are some great styles to suit everyone. Team your ponytail with a texture to make it look effortless or go for a super sleek ponytail style to give a chic statement.
Buns will also be popular for the season but will be lower and again, more disheveled, and chignons will be back on the scene that if not low and relaxed, also looks great when worn high for a more sleek look. The good old half up half down style, taking inspiration from the 60s and 70s in shape, but a lot freer, will also be an emerging trend along with ornamentation, which includes hair accessories that can enhance any look. Think sparkly clips, embellished headbands and bejeweled brooches to add some winter glamour to your look.
If you’d prefer to wear your hair down on your wedding day, sleek styles that were huge for AW16, remain popular for AW17, however, when opting for this look it’s important to ensure your locks are oozing with health and shine. For an ultra glamorous look, a strong gel like Wella Eimi Sculpt Force can be used to gel all the hair off the face or sleek on side behind the ear.
